Watch out for the dancing elves!

Yesterday's Christmas calendar task was so much fun: We had our own family's pre-Christmas party!

We dug out the elf hats and carol albums and had a blast.

We made paper snow flakes...

...and christmas tree cup cakes and of course star pastrys.

Then we had a mini Christmas meal with a twist (sweet and sour pulled pork and medievally spiced honey-roasted root veggies for example). The rest of the evening went lying in a big pile on the couch, grown-ups on the bottom and the kids on top of us. I think that was the best part of the day, we really captured the true Christmas spirit there. (The not being able to move because eating too much-part of the Christmas spirit.)
