Days 4 & 5

On the fourth of december in our christmas calendar was a note with a beautiful poem. It talks about autums darknes that is glooming outside, but how it is bright and light and cozy here with us. How the magical christmas time is getting closer, stars are shining and everyone is happy.

It's a finnish poem by Immi Hellen, but I had to shorten and alter it a little to fit in the note.

Now we need some light to brighten up this darknes, the note said. Lets go hang some christmas lights!

The forest elves in the jar got teeny tiny starry lights.

As you can see, we are in desperate need of light!

Everything will hopefully look dreamy with a little snow and frost... but for now, we can admire the glitter of raindrops in the light. *sigh*

Even if it's raining and dark outside, nothing can stop us being warm and cosy inside the house!

Today the note in the calendar said: It's saturday, and saturday is sauna-day. When christmas comes, it's time for traditional christmas sauna, but the first saturday of december we can have our very own "I-can't-wait-for-the-christmas-sauna"-sauna. There was some elements to choose for our own sauna experience:
  • honey face mask (home made)
  • peppermint foot bath (home made, with peppermint tea and salt)
  • bubble bath
  • sauna juice
  • sauna stove sausages
  • grilling mini hot dogs in the fire place
And she of course chose everything! But it turned out that bubble bath was so much fun that daddy got to enjoy the foot bath and the face mask. Cute!

Sauna is allways a huge hit in our house and everyone loved the mini hot dogs. Plus it's so rare for the little brother to get a juice box, that he fell in love with it and carried the empty box around the house for the rest of the evening. Super cute!
